In the UK, fire safety standards are strict — and rightly so. Every Blest sofa is fully BS 5852 compliant.
That means:
- Even custom orders must meet the UK fire safety requirements.
- We never supply fabrics that go against this standard
Reliability is a science. Fabrics aren’t judged only by look and feel — their strength is measured by the Martindale test, where special machines simulate thousands of cycles of someone sitting on the sofa.
Our rule is simple: we never use fabrics below 45,000 Martindale rubs.
This ensures your sofa will:
- Look the same after 3, 5 or even 10 years.
- Resist wear and tear in daily use.
- Withstand professional cleaning when it’s time for a refresh
